Unlike the Beta Color Viewer, which uses a halogen light source, the DOT INSPECTOR employs the latest in LED illumination technology, to give you a lightweight (3.4 ounces), less expensive instrument for all your color viewing needs. LED (Light Emitting Diode) illumination allows bright, consistent color, while requiring very low power to run it. Instead of a tungsten filament lamp and a heavy charger, the Dot Inspector uses two AAA batteries. The press of a button brings up the appropriate LED illumination for easy viewing and separating of process yellow, magenta and cyan, even in a printed piece! The three colored LED's simulate the old wratten filters used for color separation. For example, pressing the yellow button turns on a blue LED illuminator for seeing yellow. White illumination is available for used as a normal magnifier/microscope.
